Q. I'm doing a seminar on the differences on the treatment of Schizophrenia comparing it from now in 2007 and in the 1950s. Also wanting to know about how those suffering from schizophrenia were treated by others as well as medically. And I'm in high school, and am actually doing a lot of other research thank you very much. I'm just using this to see if anyone has any other information that I don't know about. A. Well, rock was coming out onto the stage as well as country music. The big band sound was enduring a slow death. I guess the focus was no different than in past generations, love, lost love, love me, comedy songs and a few historic songs to tragic events of the past. The difference between the past leading up to the 60s would be that in that time you'd have more songs about sex, drugs and anti war..

How to dress like a girl from the 1950s?

Asked by Kathleen - Sun Sep 5 18:46:33 2010 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You would not wear jeans to school at that time. Kids wore levis outside of school only. Only skirts were allowed for girls. It would be fun to wear a wide skirt with sequined poodle on it, dont you think? White sox, and saddle oxford shoes, a pink mohair sweater and hair in a ponytail. No tank tops, only a real sweater. Thats what I was wearing in junior high around 1959.

People kept their business their business and took pride in how they were viewed. Now, most people on TV don't care. They'll do any thing. The difference is now you gat paid to do stupid things on television. The more stupid the better, or higher ratings. Back in the 50's you would have been looked down upon for presenting yourself in such a manner. Women normally were portrayed as the glamour girl, or the stay at home wife. A. The nature of the clothing industry is maybe best noticed after a quick peek in your wardrobe. Soon you find out that few items have actually been made nearby. Instead, the origin of most jeans, t-shirts, or sweaters lies in more exotic locations such as Mexico, Bangladesh, Madagascar or Thailand.

A. It could be this film: Hot Rods to Hell (1967) starring Dana Andrews, Jeanne Crain, Mimsy Farmer, Laurie Mock, Paul Bertoya, Gene Kirkwood, Tim Stafford (aka Jeffrey Byron), Mickey Rooney Jr. IMDb synopsis: Tom Phillips, his wife Peg their teenage daughter, Tina, and little boy, Jamie, drive through the California desert, heading for a new life running a motel. Things go haywire when teenage bad girl Gloria and her two delinquent boyfriends, Duke and Ernie, chase them, with Duke attempting to seduce the daughter, finally driving Dad to take action. The movie trailer can be seen after the one for "The Young Runaways", which stars Patty McCormack, who as a child starred in "The Bad Seed":

A. Well, unless that sport became a modern pastime, it may not be that important to cite the significance of it. You may want to find information about the introduction of Australian sports into nearby aboriginal regions, and what reaction it had to them.

Same as some people became religious after 9/11 2) 3) Rock & Roll, was a combination of Blues and Jazz and other "colored" music. This was the first time that many white audiences had ever heard this style of music and as a result was helpful in beginning to break down social barriers, 4) Beatniks were a sub-set of typically artistic people. The are often portrayed and being unshaven and wearing European style clothing. They are simply another group that did not wear what others considered to be in style. Think the forerunners to the hippies of the 60's, preppies of the 80's, grunge kids of the 90's and emo/goths of the 2000's
