Where can I find a good release notice for copyrighted work?
Q. I'm a videographer and am in need of a good release notice form to give permission for a client to use my work. A company made something for their event and are wanting to use the video I took to show it to their customers. I can't seem to find what I'm looking for...any help would be fantastic! Thank you.

A. There is no 'standard' form to cover all situations. Most businesses will have their own 'standard' form. It is a tricky business to assign copyright privileges. Your best bet is to consult a copyright lawyer and have him/her draft a 'standard' form for your business. That said, here is a bare bones copyright assignment form with the minimum information required: --- assignment of copyright i, ___, residing at ___ hereby certify that I am the owner of copyrighted material(s) ( materials ) described as ___. I hereby [sell] and/or [assign] [all of my right, title and interest in such materials] or [one time publication rights] or [other publication rights] to ___ for ___dollars and ___cents ($x.xx) in hand paid.
