How do I file a complaint AGAINST the NAACP?
Q. I live in the Bay Area, and I sought help from the NAACP to help me with a case that involved my former school, and was told they didn't have the resources {after about 8 months of me sending them documentation}to help me with my case. {Of course, I wouldn't be able to go into depth on that case, which is being handled with the Department of Education}. This is interesting because I notice that they take high-profile cases, i.e. the Michael Vick case, and a police case that got the front page on the San Jose Mercury. As a company that supposedly helps people no matter who they are, and no matter their status, this was disappointing... Whom would l file a complaint with this company? {The Better Business Bureau already told me they do… [cont.]

A. The NAACP is a private organization, and is under no legal obligation to take on any case. Thus, "filing a complaint" against them isn't likely to get you anywhere. That having been said, if you have reason to complain against them, there is usually a community newspaper that you can interest in the story.
